Despite bitterly cold weather and a minor fire at St John Houghton, Tiptree parishioners pulled out all the stops on Friday to prepare for the parish Christmas Bazaar. A tremendous amount of planning and work had been put in for a long time leading up to the day of the Bazaar. So Saturday morning saw the church full of stalls laden with all sorts of scrumptious food and wonderful gifts - and the parish responded by turning out in force. In a little over 2 hours more than £2000 (gross) was raised - a tremendous achievement when set against the current economic backdrop.
